New makeup trend alert!!! Draping?!

Hello my little buttons!!
Well here we are again, already, to talk about yet another new makeup trend. Let’s quickly recap, we’ve has contouring, strobing, non-touring and now we’re onto draping. Draping is a huge throw back to a technique makeup artists used in the 60’s/70’s/80’s it’s basically contouring but with blush. Using several shades to achieve a more rosy natural contour, a darker shade on the lower cheek with a lighter, brighter shade blended above.

As I’m pretty red naturally I can’t see this being a look I’ll be jumping at!! What do you think about this new trend? Cool or Crazy? I’d love to hear in the comments below!

Makeup trends – Non-touring?!

image

Hello my little buttons!

Recently one of my favourite YouTubers Wayne Goss posted a video about “Non-touring” in short, it was hilarious. The past year has all been about contouring, this year it’s strobing, now apparently the new “hot” thing is Non-touring. Which is….drum roll please…. basically doing nothing!!!! I couldn’t tell if this was a joke or not so I got Googleing.

image

After some research I was astounded to find out that non-touring is a REAL THING. There were an abundance of makeup tutorials on YouTube, articles in magazines and even models raving about this ‘new look.’

image

Non touring is apparently about summery light ‘no makeup’ makeup, using a light coverage dewy foundation or bb cream with a dust of bronzer, blush and a touch of highlight.

(So basically go back two years before you felt the social pressure to Sculpt out those cheek bones and highlight like a blind woman possessed, you now have permission to use your old simple makeup routine.)

In theory yes I love this look as for years it was my makeup routine as well as everyone else I knew growing up lol. It just really tickled me that someone out there decided this look needed a name, a strong name, something bold that would be the next trend..and that name is “Non-touring”?!!!

It sounds like people have had enough of the many extra steps to a routine that contouring and strobing are weighed down with and are going back to basics. Which is great! It’s such a quick and easy look and as summer is round the corner you don’t wanted to be caked with layer and layers of product melting all over the place in the heat.

Celeb makeup artist Renee Sanagoo spoke Marie Claire describing the look as “spanx for your face” “you know your wearing it, but no-one’s suppost to see it.” Interesting simile, took me a while to get it but I see where she was going with that. Celebrities such as Gigi Hadid and Kendal Jenner seem to agree. Here’s my version of the ‘no makeup’ makeup Non-touring!

I hope this blog made you smile and you can see the humour in Non-touring! I’d love to hear in the comments below what you think of this ‘new’ trend, does it need a name? Do you like the name? What else would you call it?

Makeup trends – Eyebrow wigs?!

image

Hello my little buttons!

Yes you read that correctly, there is such a product as eyebrow wigs! I saw a video on YouTube by the lovely Stephenie Lange where she tried out stick on eye brows. It was rather hilarious, the colour of the brows were wrong and were a cheapy set off amazon so look pretty fake, clearly it was an entertaining disaster!

image

Although stick on brows are quite an interesting concept, drawing your brows on day in day out can become a little tedious. Especially if you’ve not been blessed with big beautiful brows naturally, could this be the solution? There appears to be a large range of stick on brows avalible ranging from £6.99 to around £65 depending on the quality and type of hair. There’s also a huge choice of colours and shapes to suit all hair colours and face shapes. To begin with I did find this quite a funny idea as I can imagine glueing brows to your face would feel….well, like glueing brows to your face!

image

I then thought for people who don’t have eyebrows this could be an amazing solution. For example if you’ve had chemo or suffer from alopecia stick on brows could make you feel that little bit more ‘normal’. From the look of the better quality human hair brows they look incredibly realistic and if used with the correct glue stay in place all day long and are reusable for 6 months, which if you think how much you might spend on brow products in 6 months they’re not that bad a price.

I’d love to hear what you think about stick on brows in the comments below!!

Makeup trends – peel off makeup from Korea?!?!

image

Hello my little buttons!

The world of Korean makeup is taking us by storm, I’ve been seeing and reading more and more reviews on products and am becoming increasingly curious. There is a company called Meme box which specialises in Korean make up and skin care. Last year I ordered one of their boxes and was extremely happy with the quality of the products inside, although this is the only contact I’ve had with Korean makeup.

I recently saw one of my favourite YouTubers Tati from ‘glamlifeguru’ make several reviews videos on a new trend hitting our screens, all the way from Korea – peel off makeup. From what I have found on instagram everyone seems to be loving the lipstain as well as the eyebrow tint. Both products apply like a thick gel, once dried you peel it off and it supposedly leaves a 12 hour stain. The novelty alone would sell this product, but the fact the stain lasts 12 hours? I need this in my life!! I was that interested i have actually ordered the whole set of lip stains from http://www.yesstyle.com as well as many other Korean items I have been looking at for a while. As soon as it arrives I’ll blog the haul!

I’m not overly excited about the eyebrow tint, from what I’ve seen the colour pay off can look a tad orange and I’m petrified it’ll go wrong and I’ll be stuck with wonkey dark brows for days so I decided against buying this….. for now.

The tints I bought are from the brand Berrisom, I have heard that there are quick a few “knock off” peel off lip stains that can contain some dangerous chemicals. I’m not sure how true this is but I have heard it several times which kind of persuaded me to stick to the Berrisom brand even though they were harder to find and a touch more expensive. I’m so excited to receive my Korean haul and try some new products and brands, testing them out and sharing my opinions with you all is going to be so much fun too. I love trying anything new and different when it comes to makeup! If there’s any other items you would like me to review please leave a comment down below.
