Collection Define & Perfect Eyebrow Powder

Hello my little buttons!

Before I discovered Anastasia Dipbrow I was a huge fan of brow powders, I saw this product by Collection online and decided to give it a try.

What makes this product unique is the applicator, unlike other products that tend to have a chunky sponge applicator (which for my brows is a no no) this powder has a fine nib which is great for neat lines helping you get in there to make a beautiful shape. It also is really versatile as you can use a light touch to gently fill in your brows or use a heavier hand for a more defined look.

The powder contains tiny fibres to give your brows some extra umph which helps fill in my gaps!

The first few times using this I couldn’t quite get it to do what I wanted as I kept adding too much pressure to the nib but after a bit of practice it’s become a staple in my makeup collection. If I don’t have the time to use my dipbrow this is a fantastic back up! Costing only about £4 it’s a steal.

If there’s any other products you’d like me to review please do comment below!!!

Is this the worst foundation ever!!???

Hello my little buttons!!

Just a super quick blog to announce I have found the worst foundation in the world! Ever! I have tried many a foundation in my time but this one really deserves it’s own blog post lol. The brand Collection I find can be very hit or miss so wasn’t sure what to expect.

I bought this online, as there was a 3 from 2 offer I chose this product as my freebie, thank God I didn’t pay for it!

The product promises an ultimate fix, foundation concealer and powder all in one with spf 15. On first touch the formula very thick and wet, I decided to use a mixture of fingers and a face brush to buff the product in. Here is my before photo.

As you can see I’ve been in the sun a lot this summer which has left me with a slight tan (I realise I’m pretty red but to me that’s as tanned as I get lol) and freckles. Here is my photo after applying the foundation.

I think you can tell how seriously unimpressed I am with my chalky patchy white face. The product sunk into every pore line and wrinkle. It looks awful!!!! The product didn’t dry whatsoever and to touch was a very bizarre combination of a liquid powder, it also did not conceal what I wanted it too.

Overall this product was crap! I can usually see the good in everything, even if something doesn’t work for me it could work for others. But this foundation? Just no lol save your money. I’d love to hear in the comments below your worst foundation experience!

The Body Shop BB Cream Review!

image

Hello my little buttons!

I love a good bbcream and have been on the lookout for a new one, in comes The Body Shop BBcream in the shade light. It cost £12, is avaliable in 6 shades and claims to be light to medium coverage. The cream itself is white and adjusts to your skin tone. The packaging is cute, it reminds me of a tube of paint!

image

As you all know I’m brutally honest in my reviews, and this will be no exception.. I hate this product. It’s rare I hate anything as what doesn’t work for some works for others but I honestly don’t see how this could work for anyone. It had zero coverage, I literally mean zero coverage. Here is me with just the bbcream on. (I am slightly sunburnt lol)

image

There wasn’t even a hint of colour, I looked like I’d applied a really rich greasy moisturiser with mini telescopes attached to my pores. My first reaction was hell no its coming off!! But for the benefit of you lovelies I tried to make it work to really test it out. I left it to set thinking it might oxidise and mattify.

When I looked back in the mirror 10 mins later it looked the same!!! Greasy but this time with a tinge of orange. Never a good look. I applied the rest of my makeup as normal but it applied patchy and I look ridiculous. I then applied a powder foundation over the top as there was no way I was leaving the house looking like that.

image

Even with the powder foundation throughout the day it’s has separated and sunk into every pore line and wrinkle. And after 4 hours of wear I look like I’ve rubbed butter over my face, it looks terrible.

The Body Shop actually add oil to all of their foundations, which for most skin types is going to be way too heavy. The bbcream contained marula oil which I think might be the culprate here.

Do you like this BB Cream? I’d love to hear in the comments below!

Tony Moly Pandas Dream Brightening Eyebase Review!

image

Hello my little buttons!

Today I’ll be reviewing one of my Korean purchases I made recently, this is the Tony Moly Pandas Dream under eye brightener. Let’s be honest here, the packaging is freaking adorable, it could of contained bum cream and I probably still would of bought it!!! I had high hopes for this product due to the fact it was so cute and that I love a bit of brightness under the eyes to reflect my tired old lady bags.

image

The product itself is a stark white cream stick, it did require some blending as although it was creamy it just didn’t want to blend into my skin. Once it was blended it settled into every pore, wrinkle and line on my face. It reminded me of a glue stick lol. It obviously did lighten under my eyes while I just had the brightener on but even on my pale skin it was very white. This product definatly wouldn’t work for medium or deeper skintones.

image

I have tried this product out with 4 different foundations and I’m pretty devastated to say… I don’t think it does anything!!! I’ve tried it on both eyes and couldnt see much of a difference. I then tried wearing the product on one eye and not the other to see a side by side comparison. Again, nothing!!! I’ll insert a photo here, can you tell which one has the product on?! (not the most flattering photo but you can see what you need to see.)

image

I also took another photo in more natural light too see if that helped, as you can tell, it didn’t! I’m wearing it on my left side btw!

image

I have seen zero difference, I’ve been asking people and they are seeing zero difference too. I keep wanting to try the panda as I love the idea of this product, I really want it to work. I’ve also got a sneeking suspician my determination has got something to do with the cute packaging, which I know is ridiculous but look at it!

I tried layering it up more, thinking maybe I didn’t use enough product. This caused serious concealer bunching through the day, it look awful, separating all the product under my eyes. Here is another unflattering photo taken only 1 HOUR after applying my makeup.

image

So with great sadness I have to say this product is a total fail, I’d love to hear in the comments if this product works for you?!

Avon Glimmerstick Flick Eyeliner Review

image

Hello my little buttons!

I bought the new Avon glimmerstick flick eyeliner pencils in the shades Mulberry and Sky, the stick of eyeliner comes out of the packaging in a rectangular shape to help create the perfect flick. As they’re a new product, Avon had an offer of 2 for £6 which I thought was a pretty good deal. I was quite intrigued by the packaging, in the photo in the catalogue the liner tip looked really small so I thought this might be a nice quick and easy solution to eyeliner.

When I saw them in person I was quite disappointed, the rectangle was rather big considering your going to put them on your eyes to create a smooth sharp flick. I didn’t see how this would be achievable with these eyeliners as to be really honest they looked chunky and blocky, which are not words I would ideally like to use to describe an eyeliner.

This review is going to be quite interesting as I have different opinions on both colours. I would assume the formula would be the same for both liners, however this wasn’t the case.  The purple formula wasn’t as pigmented as I would have liked but after using it I actually like the soft smokey affect it made. It blended nicely into my eyeshadow and lasted fairly well throughout the day for a £3 eyeliner. By the end of the day there was noticable fading but as my shadow had started fading too so it was no biggie. It was also not as hard to create a wing as I thought but I think by blending the edges this made it easier.

image

The blue on the other hand was far more pigmented, which I was not expecting as when swatched on my hand it wasn’t all that. I didn’t think the colour would look as good smoked up like the purple so I tried creating a small flick and the line my upper lash line as well as my waterline. It was a lot harder to get a neat line, I think it is because of the pigmentation and the fact that the tip wasn’t fine enough it wasn’t very forgiving. The purple was a lot easier to use and felt softer on the lids. There was also something in the blue liner that irritated the crap out of my eyes, not just on first application, but all day. They were watery and itchy and I just didn’t feel comfortable, I was also rather self contious that my wing wasn’t how I wanted it to look. I did get a lot of compliments on my eyemakeup that day but I really didn’t want people looking too closely! On a positive note the blue did last better through the day than the purple.

image

I found with both of the liners that the packaging really let them down, after you turn the barrel to push up the product out of the top, it slips back down. Every time I tried to reposition my hand to steady myself to draw my eyeliner on it kept retracting at the lightest touch. It was incredibly frustrating!

I will say if you’re into a really sharp wing this probably isn’t for you. As I said a soft wing was achievable with both products but I don’t think it took me less time using my normal eyeliner to be fully honest. I will be using the mulberry liner again as it was very pretty amd shimmery and overall easier to use. Sadly I won’t be using the blue for the reasons stated above.

I’d love to hear in the comments below what you think of these liners!

Korean Peel off Liptint “My Liptint Pack” Review! !

image

Hello my little buttons!

This is the second time I am writing this review, for those of you that are signed up to my blog you might of seen a notification about this post that actually had no content, sorry about that there was a technical error and it got deleted. I could of cried. But here we go for round two!

Here is the long awaited review on the Berrisom ‘My Liptint Pack’ peel off lipstains. I have had so many questions about these lipstain in real life as well as online and after a week of trial and error I have come to a conclusion as well as some tips and tricks on application. I bought the pack of 6 colours from yesstyle and it cost around £25. Delivery took an age but was well worth the wait. For those of you that don’t know and bout the new peel of lipstain phemoninom I’ll break it down for you. The product comes in a tube, it has a thick gel like consistency, you apply it directly to the lips, let it dry, once dry peel the gel off and it will leave a stain. Here are some arm swatches of the colours before peeling the gel off.
image

At first I thought omg they’re so bright but I shouldn’t of worried, as you can see in the picture below once the gel was peeled off i was so pleased to see lovely coloured wearable stains. (it’s been 30 hours and they’re still on my arm!)

image

I had heard online to be careful on application as the product will try to seep into your mouth so you should try not to talk while the gel is drying. The first colour I tried was Virgin Red. I got a bit carried away and applied it with my mouth open, big mistake, I was left with bright red teeth and the worst taste in my mouth. So tip number one is definatly apply with you mouth shut!! And keep it shut!! I also noticed the due to the consistency of the gel and the plastic applicator its impossible to get a perfectly neat line around the edges of my lips, thankfully you really cant tell once the gel is off.
image

Throughout the course of the week I learnt to take my time with application and to not over load my lips with too much product. That’s tip number two. The shade Virgin Red did really tingle my lips but this was the only shade that did this so if your lips are sensitive do be carefull.
image

Once I peeled the gel off I was blow away, it had left a hearty stain that truelly lasted all day! The colour was beautiful and I’ve honestly never seen such a pigmented tint, and trust me I have tried many.
image

After 5/6 hours of wear I noticed it had started to fade towards the inside of lips after eating and drinking but from a distance it still looked great. What is also handy about these tints is you can pop some on where it has faded to touch it up easily thought the day. Here is the colour Bubblegum Pink, the bottom photo is after 5 hours.
image

image

image

The only colour that fell short was Lovely Peach, I was hoping it would be a pretty peachy stain that would be great to use day to day for a more natural look. Sadly it didn’t really do much, as youll see in the photos below the gel was bright orange so I really thought it was going to be a goodun but I don’t really think you can tell in the photo below that, that I even had anything on.
image

image

The rest of the colours were awesome, these are by far the best stains ive ever used. The pigment is crazy and the longevity was impressive. It’s also pretty fun peeling the gel off! Heres some photos down below of the other colours on myself as well as my lovely friend Carla who was a less than willing volentire, but even she loved the stain!

Elf HD Under Eye Setting Powder Review

image

Hello my little buttons!

I’ve been meaning to blog about this product for some time, it’s the Elf Cosmetics HD under eye setting powder. Usually when I do my makeup I use what ever setting powder I’m using that day under my eyes too. I’ve not tried a specific under eye powder before and to be honest, I couldn’t see what was so special bout it! Until now….

This powder is amazing! It sets my concealer all day long, it massively reduces creasing and also smooths out and brightens my under eye area. The pot in teeny tiny but I think it’s going to last for ages as you only need a small amount. It is a loose powder but comes with a sifter so it’s not as messy as it could be, it also comes with a tiny brush but I prefer using the Elf Flawless Concealer brush as it’s still small but nice and fluffy. It’s priced at £4.50 which I think is very affordable as it really makes your skin look beautiful I was so happy with it. I’m fully converted and now use it every time I wear makeup!

What under eye setting powders do you use? I’d love to hear in the comments below!

Korean makeup haul!

image

Hello my little buttons!

I’m very excited to share with you my recent Korean makeup haul from yesstyle. I bought these products with my own money and have been waiting, for what feels like an eternity, for them to arrive! I will be reviewing each product individually so this is just a quick blog on what exactually I have ordered.

image

This item was the only item I actually intended to buy lol. I have watched and read so many people try out the new “peel off lipstain” i couldnt help but jump on board to lol. This pack is the “my lip tint pack” and comes with 6 shades.

image

I love a good eyeliner so was drawn to these super waterproof liners in black and bronze. I swatched them on my arm and within seconds they set, I have a video up on my Instagram showing me rubbing over them with zero smudging. Think these will be fantastic hoping to test them out at the weekend. The packaging is also adorable, there’s a really cute snow white with attitude on the lids!

image

Simple liquid liner, the formula looks super black and the brush is perfect  for winging out.

image

Black head nose strips are sooo much fun, I love seeing all the gunk come out! I know it’s discusting but you have to admit it’s really rewarding and anyone who says it isn’t is lying.

image

This adorable little panda is an under eye brighter. I’ll be honest with you, it could of been any product and I think I would of still bought it!!! This packaging is just too cute. The product itself looks pretty white so am curious to see how it looks under makeup.

Tomorrow morning I’ll be testing lots of these little monsters out amd will be posting pics on instagram! I already started testing the lipstains, I’m planning on using one each day and reviewing them next weekend. It’s going to be an interesting read, if you are curious do subscribe to my blog and you’ll receive an email notification when it’s up!

May 2016 favourites!

image

Hello my little buttons!

It’s that time of the month again when I think back to my favourite products I’ve been using this month and what I would recommend, here’s my quick round up of what I’ve been loving!

Purse perfumes

I love these little guys, they fit in any size bag I choose to use that day to freshen up while I’m out an about. I’m currently using the scent “cherish” from Avon in a spray bottle priced at £3.50 and “modern muse” from Estee Lauder in a roller ball priced at £20.

image

image

L’oreal cushion foundation

I wrote a big old blog about this little gem, it’s converted me to glowy foundation! It’s so quick amd easy to apply, it has good coverage while still looking natural. There really is something magic about the formula I highly recommend it. If you would like to read more about what I think of this foundation, click here!

Honey serum and moisturiser

Honey is huge in the skincare world right now, I’ll soon be blogging about all the benefits honey has, as I think you’ll be suprised just how good it is for the skin! I’m loving Hey Honey good morning honey silk serum, even though its travel size I’ve been using it for weeks and still have product left. A little goes a long way and it feels gorgeous on the skin. Using the serum with beegood Plump And Firm Moisturiser has been my secret weapon. The moisturiser keeps my skin hydrated throughout day and feeling super soft. My skin has been looking great since using these products (apart from a recent break out caused by a new face wash, the review for that is here!) my pores look smaller, my skin texture is looking much more even and less red, and my breakout is disappearing noticeably quicker than normal. Go team honey.

image

Younique eyeshadow palette

No one could be more suprised than me for liking this one!!! (detailed review here) The palette has a beautiful selection of mattes and shimmers, I love the shade range as I didn’t have to reach for any other palette to complete my look. They blend beautifully, super pigmented and were honestly a delight to use.

I’d love to hear in the comments below what your monthly favourites have been. Did you like any of the products I mentioned?

Rimmel Renew Sheer and Shine Lipstick Review

image

Hello my little buttons!

In the summer I love tinted lip balms and sheer lipstick, well I love them all year round really, but especially in the summer! They’re a great way to keep your lips moisturised with a pop of colour,  they’re quick and easy to apply too, the ultimate lazy lip colour.

When I saw rimmel had released Renew Sheen and Shine lipstick I just had to pick one up. On the boots website they’re described as:

“Rimmel London Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipstick, a moisturising lipstick with a translucent, luminous, vitamin-enriched colour.
This gloss-in-a-stick moisturises lips, giving a radiant touch of juicy colour and energising shine.
Added SPF 20 helps protect your luscious lips from the harmful effects of the sun.”

Sounds right up my alley! They are priced at £6.49 and currently Boots are doing buy one rimmel product get another half price. It is avalible in 6 shades, I ordered mine online and went for the bright pink shade “pink rules.” I tend to go for calmer shades but was interested in how pigmented and “luminous” a brighter sheer lipstick would look so I stepped out of my comfort zone. The packaging is so cute, the bright pink see through lid almost glows and against the silver base it’s visually appealing.

I was not expecting the pigmentation and colour this lipstick gives off!!! Here’s a swatch on the back of my hand, it stained after I wiped it off too which I was pleased at as I love products that stain. It means even if I don’t have time to reapply my lipstick they’ll still be some colour there.

image

When applied on the lips it felt slick, smooth and balmy, the colour pay off is crazy, really bright and very noticable. I was worried it would slip about and stray onto my face and teeth but I was suprised after application when it stayed put. As I’m not a really bright lipstick person I was still very aware it was on my lips which wasn’t the best feeling but is definatly an issue within myself lol. Here is what the lipstick looked like on.

image

image

As you can see for a sheer lipstick it’s not overly sheer. One thing I found rather annoying was trying to get the line neat and tidy around my lips, it was impossible, where it is so glossy and balmy it wasn’t playing the game!! I don’t think it would be hugely noticable to the average person but it felt very noticable to me.

I think people will either love or hate this product, on the plus side it’s bright and summery, colourful, so comfy on the lips and it still does have a ‘sheer’ look to it and leaves an awesome stain. On the downsides you still need a mirror to apply it even though it’s technically a tinted lip balm, you cant do a nice crisp lip line with it and because it’s sheer it’s more patchy and wears off ever so slightly patchy through the day. I will continue to use this product as do like the colour pay off and it leaves lips feeling soft and hydrated but I’m finding it hard to decide how much I actually like it, I think I can see both the pros and cons and hopefully over time i can make a full on decision!! I’d love to hear in the comments below what you think of this product?!
